Young wines are those that are marketed in the same year of the harvest or the following year, so they do not spend time in oak barrels. They are wines made with white and red grapes, ready to be consumed in the months following the harvest. That is why it is very common to call them "vinos de año" (wines of the year). It is not advisable to let too much time pass before opening a bottle of young wine, as it is specially designed to show its best qualities in the months and years following its preparation.
